Dr Christina Wilkerson
Dr. Christy Wilkerson is delighted with the career path that she has worked toward since the age of three. A graduate of Liberty High School in 1987, Dr. Wilkerson obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1994.
A career long northland veterinarian, Dr. Wilkerson started at Eagle Animal Hospital in Riverside, MO. After nine years there, she had a brief tenure at Amity Woods and in 2003 helped to establish Shoal Creek Animal Hospital. In 2007 she rejoined her high school mentor, Dr. Howard at Crossroads Animal Hospital. “It has been an amazing fit and I am where I am supposed to be,” says Wilkerson. Dr. Wilkerson went on to purchase Crossroads Animal Hospital from Dr. Howard in 2021.
Dr. Wilkerson’s goal as a veterinarian is to provide the best quality of life for all her patients. She wants everyone to know the true joy of having four legged kids in their lives. She strives to listen to owners’ expectations and give them the best options of care.
Dr. Wilkerson married her high school sweetheart, Neil Wilkerson in 1990. They have two children, Nathan and Josie. The Wilkerson’s share their home with two cardigan corgis and have the honor of keeping their grand dog, an energetic lab while their son is serving in the U.S. Army.
In her spare time Dr. Wilkerson enjoys out door activities like kayaking and biking. She also assists her husband with his business, Dubious Claims Brewing Company in Excelsior Springs.
